You speak, but they don’t listen. You scream, but they dismiss you. They tell you it’s temporary, that things will change, that the weight you carry isn’t as heavy as it feels. But you know better. You’ve been here before, standing in the wreckage of broken promises, watching the cycle repeat itself.
The violence hasn’t stopped. The pain hasn’t eased. They act like hope is a cure, like believing in change is enough to make it real. But hope, in their hands, is just another weapon—a tool to uphold supremacy while masking it as progress.
You’ve reached the point where anger is survival. Where truth sounds like a threat. Where questioning the system makes you the problem. But you won’t be silenced. Not now. Not ever. Because uncertainty lingers, but so does your voice.
I wrote FOLLOWED BY UNCERTAINTY from a place of exhaustion—exhaustion from the lies, the gaslighting, the cycle of violence that never really ends. People love to act like everything is fine, like we should just hold on a little longer, like hope alone will save us. But hope doesn’t save us—hope keeps the powerful comfortable while we suffer.
This poem is my refusal to accept empty promises. It’s me calling out the bullshit, the systems that pretend to change but never do. It’s anger, it’s truth, it’s survival. I’m tired of waiting for justice, tired of watching people act like we haven’t been screaming for years. If change isn’t coming, then I’ll make noise until they have no choice but to hear me…
